Like a garden room, your oak garden structure belongs to the outbuilding category and will satisfy PD regulations by meeting the following criteria:
Your garden structure doesn’t exceed 50% of your property.
Outbuildings cannot sit forward of the principal elevation.
Outbuildings can be single-storey structures with a maximum eaves height of 2.5m.
Buildings cannot be used for residential accommodation, such as bedrooms or an annexe but can be used to provide a place to work from home.
Height restrictions on different types of roofs will apply to your oak garden structure. It's 4m for a dual-pitch roof, 3m for other roof types and 2.5m when your building is within 2m of the boundary.
