Satisfying PD regulations relies on your oak-framed garage meeting the following criteria:
The total area covered by your garage should not exceed 50% of the total area of your curtilage, including extensions (but not the area covered by the main house).
Garages cannot go beyond the front of the principal elevation.
The height restrictions for different garage roofs include 4m for a dual-pitch roof, 3m for other roof types, and 2.5m when your building is within 2m of the boundary.
Garages can be a single-story structure, with the maximum height of the eaves remaining at 2.5m.
Buildings cannot be used for residential accommodation like bedrooms or an annexe. However, oak garages with a room above can be used to provide a workspace.
If you want to take care of the build, our beautiful, easy-assemble oak garage kits are the ideal solution. Every garage kit is handmade with solid oak frames, incorporating traditional mortise and tenon oak pegged joints. Made to order and assembled by hand in our workshop, each kit is comprised of two or three-bay single-storeys that can also include an additional room above.
